Pierre-Yves Le Gac

Pierre-Yves Le Gac is a researcher at Ifremer, working on the durability of polymers and elastomers in marine and energy-related environments. His research focuses on ageing mechanisms, structure–property relationships, and the coupling between chemical degradation and mechanical performance. He develops experimental and modelling approaches to predict long-term behaviour under severe conditions such as oxidation, seawater exposure, pressure, and mechanical loading. He has more than 80 scientific papers. He is involved in academic and industrial collaborations on polymer materials for offshore, marine renewable energy, and energy infrastructures.
