Richard Lucas is Head of Data at Patchwork Health, the NHS workforce technology platform. He leads a data team responsible for delivering real-time workforce dashboards, financial reporting, compliance analytics, data science tools and AI-driven insights to NHS trusts across the UK. Richard has over 20 years of experience in NHS workforce technology. Before joining Patchwork, he supported NHS organisations across the UK on projects spanning medical contracts, rostering, job planning, safe staffing initiatives, discharge planning and many data-led transformation projects, and held NHS-side roles at Epsom St Helier and Kent Community Health covering medical rostering, HR systems, and workforce management. He joined Patchwork six and a half years ago, initially as Customer Success Director, before moving into his current data leadership role.
