Ritsuko Pooh

Ritsuko K. Pooh, M.D., Ph.D., M.Sc., LL.B., MBA, is the founder and Director of CRIFM Prenatal Medical Clinic (Fetal Diagnostic Center / Fetal Brain Center) in Osaka, Japan—the first of its kind in the country—and CEO of Ritz Medical Clinical Genetic Laboratory. Holding an M.Sc. in genetic medicine, she pioneered the field of neurosonogenetics, integrating 3D transvaginal fetal neurosonography with next-generation sequencing to advance prenatal diagnosis of cortical malformations and genetic disorders. With over 30 years of clinical experience in fetal neuroimaging, she has published extensively in leading journals, including Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynecology and the American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology. Prof. Pooh holds professorships at universities in the USA, Japan, and Russia, and currently serves as an ISUOG Trustee and Ambassador to Asia, and Vice President of JSUOG.
