Ryan Bearss

With more than a decade of experience in turfgrass research, applied agronomy, and sports field systems, Ryan earned his Ph.D. from Michigan State University, where his research focused on the production, reinforcement, establishment, and management of natural and hybrid-reinforced turfgrass systems developed in support of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Throughout his professional career, Ryan has conducted dozens of research experiments and delivered more than 40 presentations in the US and internationally, while working closely with industry and university partners to develop practical solutions for high-performance turfgrass systems. In his current role with CapillaryFlow, Ryan leads research and development efforts focused on subsurface and capillary irrigation, rootzone optimization, water management, and university-supported validation of technologies for sports turf and other high-performance natural surfaces.
