EEBio is a six-year EPSRC Programme Grant uniting researchers from Oxford, Bristol, and Imperial College London to engineer reliability into biosolutions. We combine AI-driven modelling, control engineering and custom hardware with experimental biology to make biosystems more predictable, scalable and economically viable. Our platform approach reduces biological uncertainty and accelerates translation from lab to deployment. By integrating data-driven optimisation with real-time control, we improve yield, stability and scale-up performance while reducing development timelines and cost. We apply this across the bioeconomy. In biomedicine, we develop controllable synthetic cell systems and cybergenetic organ-on-chip platforms to enhance therapeutic precision and reproducibility. In bioproduction, we optimise strain performance and process stability to support commercial manufacturing. In environmental applications, we engineer robust microbial consortia for reliable operation in real-wor
