Sergio Arbelaez

Sergio leads Matrix Renewables’ growth across Europe and Latin America, with a background spanning energy investment, structuring, and infrastructure development. As Managing Director and Head of Europe & Latin America, he oversees long-term strategy, regional operations, capital allocation, and project development across both regions. He joined the company in 2020. Prior to Matrix Renewables, Sergio was Head of Structuring and Financing at Trina Solar, where he originated and executed M&A and financing transactions across Europe, Latin America, Africa, and Asia. Earlier, he held investment banking and investment management roles at Santander Corporate & Investment Banking, Schroders, and Credit Suisse, focusing on energy and infrastructure transactions across Madrid, Santiago de Chile, London, and New York. Sergio holds a BA in Business Administration from Universidad de los Andes (Colombia) and Universidad de Navarra (Spain), and an MBA from IESE Business School.
