Shafik Meghji

Shafik is an award-winning travel writer, journalist, author, editor, book critic and broadcaster specialising in Latin America and South Asia, with a particular focus on responsible travel, food, history, culture and human rights. He has co-authored more than 45 guidebooks for Rough Guides, Lonely Planet and DK Eyewitness to destinations across Latin America, Asia, Europe, North Africa and Oceania. He also writes, reviews books and takes photos for BBC Travel, Wanderlust, National Geographic Traveller, Condé Nast Traveller and Time Out, among others. His TV appearances include BBC1’s How to Holiday Better. Shafik is the author of Crossed Off the Map: Travels in Bolivia and Small Earthquakes: A Journey Through Lost British History in South America.
