Sophie Koudmani
Physicist
Dr Sophie Koudmani is a lecturer and Royal Society University Research Fellow at the University of Hertfordshire. Her research aims to unravel the physical processes governing galaxy formation, especially the interface between galaxies and their supermassive black holes. Prior to this, she held an 1851 Royal Commission Fellowship at Herts, a Junior Research Fellowship at St Catharine's College, University of Cambridge, and a Flatiron Research Fellowship at the Center for Computational Astrophysics in New York City. She received her PhD in astronomy from the University of Cambridge, where she pioneered the theoretical modelling of active black holes in dwarf galaxies.
