Tara Martin

Tara Martin can now say she has been sewing for over 50 years. Having completed her BA in Fashion Design many years ago, Tara opened her sewing school and design studio, The Dressmaker’s Apprentice, in Bangor in 2020. Here she teaches a range of sewing and textile related classes for all levels, from absolute beginners who have never threaded a needle or used a sewing machine up to experienced dressmakers and pattern cutters. Tara loves the slower hand sewing techniques from sashiko to mola and pojagi, alongside heritage crafts in particular pulled and drawn thread linen work, stumpwork and threadpainting.
