The Rt Hon Kanishka Narayan MP

The Rt Hon Kanishka Narayan MP is the UK’s first-ever dedicated Minister for Artificial Intelligence and is a Cabinet Minister, reflecting the growing strategic importance of AI to the UK economy and public sector. Appointed Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence in July 2026, Kanishka leads the Government’s work across AI strategy, policy, innovation, security and economy-wide adoption, as well as the use of AI across public services. He has served as the Member of Parliament for the Vale of Glamorgan since 2024, and previously held the Government brief for AI and Online Safety.
