Tim Tozer

Tim is still only partially retired as an academic at the University of York, and for many years was head of their Communications Research Group. He has long experience in satellite communications, including with the Skynet military satellite programme. In addition to teaching and lecturing, he has been engaged with a wide range of research activities in wireless systems. Area of activity have included VSAT and High Altitude Platform (HAP) communications, as well as other Wireless networks and Underwater Acoustic systems. Tim is a named author on over 200 publications, and has presented widely at international workshops and conferences. Tim has also been intensively involved with this IET Satcoms Course now for over 35 years, including as Course Leader. He is a Fellow of the IET, a Chartered Engineer, and a former Chair of the IET SatSys PN Executive Team.
