Van Ling

After graduating from USC Film School in 1986, Van Ling caught the eye of both producer Gale Anne Hurd and writer/director James Cameron with a makeshift “Aliens” Power-Loader Halloween costume and spent eight years rising from a creative research assistant to heading up Cameron’s Lightstorm Entertainment production department and serving as the Special Edition Producer on “The Abyss” and “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” before branching out into a broader industry career in visual effects, computer graphics design and on-set playback for such films as “Twister”, “Dante’s Peak” and “Titanic”. Ling was an award-winning producer and pioneer in the laserdisc, DVD and Blu-ray formats, known for creating innovative disc content, documentaries and menu systems for studio film releases. Ling cowrote and directed his first feature in 2016 (“Cliffs of Freedom”, released in 2019) and is developing multiple new projects, including the historical drama series “Constantinople” for Aegean Entertainment.
