Young Lah

Young Lah is Co-Founder and Global CEO of Helinox. He founded the company in Seoul in 2009 with his father, Jake Lah, whose company DAC is the global leader in high-performance aluminium tent poles. Helinox took that engineering base and applied it to outdoor furniture. The result was the Chair One, which resets expectations for weight, packability and comfort in the category. As Global CEO, Young drives Helinox’s global direction, and every product is developed under his oversight. Beyond the outdoors, he has taken Helinox into fashion, sport and culture through collaborations and activations such as the Cinema Paradiso at the Louvre, Louis Vuitton and many others. Young has built the brand internationally, including setting up the European subsidiary in 2018. His design principle is simple: every detail has to serve a clear function, with nothing added that doesn’t need to be there.
