Augusto Carimatto

Dr. Augusto José Carimatto is Head of the IC Department at Pi Imaging Technology. He holds a degree in Electronics Engineering from the National Technological University (UTN) in Buenos Aires, Argentina, an M.Sc. from the University of Troyes, France, and a Ph.D. from Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), The Netherlands, where he specialized in single-photon avalanche diode (SPAD) sensors and ASIC design. With more than 15 years of experience in microelectronics, he develops advanced integrated circuits for demanding scientific and industrial imaging applications. His work spans positron emission tomography (PET), LiDAR, high-speed imaging, artificial intelligence, robotics, and machine-learning techniques. During his doctoral research and subsequent work, Dr. Carimatto contributed to the development of SPAD image-sensor architectures for LiDAR, PET, and high-speed imaging, encompassing sensor and pixel design, neural-network-based processing, high-performance bus and memory arch
