Christian Maaser

Christian Maaser is the head of the gastroenterology outpatient department as well as the head of the department of geriatrics at the University teaching hospital in Lueneburg, Germany. One of his major research interest is the use of intestinal ultrasound for the treatment management of IBD. He is the current chair of the International Bowel Ultrasound Group (IBUS) and a member of the ECCO educational committee being in charge of the imaging courses as well as a member of the ECCO 2022 congress organizing committee. As a past member of ECCO GuiCom he was participated in the development of various ECCO guidelines and topical reviews.
