Graham McNeil-Watson
CEO, Evil Works
Graham's home territory is coding, with 35 years of amateur and professional experience combined. He holds a PhD in condensed matter physics from the University of Bath. He worked in Barclays Investment Bank for 14 years, where he was Managing Director, Head of the Counterparty Risk Quant team, developing financial risk models. These models were cross-asset class, requiring integration of data and systems across traditionally siloed areas of the bank. The final system being the largest model regularly run by the bank, bringing unique scalability challenges. He later has worked in a range of startups, spanning a FinTech app, the Vision 2020 Neom project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, alternative data and now data science. Each involved significant data pipeline and modelling challenges, further extending his practical experience with models, systems, data and their integration.
